Santa Fe Opera

April 9, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

$10.00

Celebrate Shakespeare and The Santa Fe Opera’s newest world premiere THIS WEEKEND!
UnShakeable is an endearing one hour opera composed by Performance Santa Fe’s General Director Joseph Illick with libretto by Andrea Fellows Walters, the Opera’s Director of Education and Community Engagement.

Set in an abandoned theater in New Mexico 25 years in the future, UnShakeable tells the story of Wyatt and Meridian, Shakespearean actors and former lovers who have fallen victim to Erasure, a viral pandemic resulting in memory loss. Separated from Meridian (Jacquelyn Stucker) at the start of the pandemic, Wyatt (Samuel Schultz) has been searching for his love ever since. Exploring themes of memory, connection, and the power of song, UnShakeable incorporates language from some of Shakespeare’s iconic works — including The Taming of the Shrew and Romeo and Juliet — to create a moving modern romantic comedy, perfectly suited for audiences of all ages
