To set up a rental of space in the Scottish Rite Center the following process will take place.
1. INITIAL INQUIRY
If you are interested in using the Scottish Rite Center for an event, please review the information on this webpage, plan to visit the Center, or call for additional information. A visit to the Center will give you the opportunity to see and feel the space and better visualize how to best utilize the areas required for your event. Event business hours are Tuesday – Thursday from 9:30am – 3:30pm.
2. DEFINE THE EVENT AND SELECT A DATE
You will need to define your event and determine which spaces meet your needs. Then check the online calendar to confirm if the date(s) you are interested in is available. Be prepared to be flexible – it is best to have an alternative date in mind.
3. INITIAL REQUEST FOR SPACE USE
Contact with the Center can be made by sending your event information and date(s) to the email address email@example.com or by calling the Temple at (505) 982-4415 during Event Business Hours. Due to high rental demand, please understand that your requested date will not be “held” or “penciled in.” If you wish to hold a date, a non-refundable fee is required.
4. CONTRACT PREPARED
Once a date is selected and you are committed to move forward, a contract will be prepared that sets the conditions for the rental. Details in the contract may be adjusted to meet the needs of each user. An example of the contract is shown. PDF CONTRACT LINK (PENDING)
5. CONTRACT SIGNED
After the contract conditions are agreed to by you and Scottish Rite Center, two copies will be signed. At this point, your date will be confirmed and reflected on the online calendar.
6. SECURITY DEPOSIT AND EVIDENCE OF INSURANCE
At the time the contract is signed, you will be required to provide 50% of the rental fee, a security deposit, and to secure event liability insurance.
7. EVENT TAKES PLACE
The event takes place as scheduled. It is a requirement that the customer understand the historic nature of the facility and respect it with care3:-
8. CLEAN UP
After the event, you are required to clean up and restore all spaces to the condition they were in when set up for the event started. Any damage will be noted and repairs planned for at the expense of the customer. Once everything has been restored and cleaned, the damage deposit will be returned.
